LoveEd is Designed For Groups.

LoveEd is a parent-led resource that Catholic parishes, religious education programs, schools, home-school co-ops, and other groups can - and should - implement in a group setting.

This is your chance to ensure parents at your parish/school are equipped and motivated to effectively tackle such crucial aspects of a child's formation.

Why Group Sessions?

It's an effective way to get parents to the table with their son/daughter on such important matters of love and sexuality.

Here are several reasons why even well-meaning Catholic parents often neglect conversations with their children about love, sexuality, and relationships:

  • Have hectic & distracted lives
  • Don't know where or when to begin
  • Believe "leading by example" is sufficient
  • Trust their children's school to educate on such topics
  • Trust their parish to educate on such topics
  • Need to know the vocabulary to use
  • Need to know what to say and what not to say
  • Need the confidence
  • Didn't understand or live the true teachings themselves.
  • Feel "the talk" isn't necessary

You can help overcome these obstacles for parents by hosting a group session.

How Group Sessions Work

Each age group/gender gathers in-person to watch the videos and
completes the first section of the children's workbook.  Time for
private conversations is provided in between each video.

Each group session is facilitated by an adult(s) of the same sex and is committed to guiding the participants through the session.

Professional facilitation guides with step-by-step instructions are provided.

Upon completion of the group session, the parent/child completes the
remaining 6 chapters of the workbook at home on his/her own time. While the child completes the workbook, the parent references the parent guide as needed to facilitate additional dialogue and answer questions/comments effectively.

This video will help you understand how to effectively implement LoveEd with groups.

There Are Many Ways to Implement LoveEd in a Group Setting

Plan a simple 2-hour window in the evening or weekend in a relaxed comfortable setting.

It's a resource you can incorporate within a retreat, Lenten mission, Advent reflection, summer camp, or other parish/school events.

Other unique ways to implement LoveEd include Saturday High Tea, Manicure/Spa Day, Cooking class, Pizza & Root beer Party, Sports game(s), Afternoon Adventure Outing.

Supplemental Parent-Only Seminar

Conducting the Parent-Only LoveEd Seminar is highly encouraged.

This seminar consists of 6 videos and group discussion. A diverse group of parents are showcased in the videos.

Perfect for parents of toddlers to teens.

This seminar allows parents to preview the LoveEd videos and workbooks and become familiar with the content included in LoveEd.

Most importantly, this seminar empowers mothers and fathers
to understand the ‘why’ behind The Church's Teaching on love, sex, and marriage; as well as help them answer questions from their children from ages 3 – 15.

This seminar is also included in the facilitator guide.

*It is best if the parent seminar precedes the parent-child LoveEd sessions.

What is Needed for Group Implementation

LoveEd books

All parents are encouraged to have their own parent guide and each child have their own work book.

The first portion of the children's workbook is completed at a group session, in conjunction with the videos.

The remaining part of the children's workbook is completed at-home with check-in's with a parent after each remaining chapter.

LoveEd is designed to keep parents/children engaged on the topics long after the group session ends.

Parishes can order parent and children’s books in bulk at discounted rates for group use. Contact us to learn more.

Facilitators

  • A male facilitates father/son sessions and a female facilitates a mother/daughter session.
  • Ideally, these men & women would understand and appreciate the Catholic vision of human sexuality.
  • The facilitator guide offer step-by-step instruction through the implementation process.
  • Additional training is available by the LoveEd team.
  • The LoveEd team is able and willing to do the facilitation of LoveEd for your group. Contact us to inquire.

2-Hr Window of Time

  • Ideally, you will dedicate 2 hours for a group session.
  • This allows for for sufficient time for the parent/child to engage in meaningful private conversations.
  • The less time you carve out, the less time available for parent-child conversations.

Sufficient Audio/Visual Technology

For participants to stay engaged in the content, a sufficiently sized screen is needed for the group. Plus, audio must be loud and clear, with volume set ahead of time.

A TV will work for a small group, but a projector and screen may be needed for larger groups.

All videos are streamed through this website. It is important to have stable and fast internet in order to stream the videos.

If quality internet is not available, we will provide alternative methods to show the videos. (ie. mailing a thumb drive)

Sufficient Space

Enough comfortable space & seating for the parent/child to have a private conversation in between the videos is important.

Having participants within earshot of each other may prevent open and transparent conversations. If participants have to be within earshot of each other, playing background music will help prevent
