Group Implementation

LoveEd is a parent-led resource that Catholic parishes, religious education programs, schools, home-school co-ops, and other groups can implement in a group setting.

Each age group/gender gathers in-person to watch the videos and completes the first section of the children's workbook.  Time for private conversations is provided in between each video.

Upon completion of the group session, the child completes the remaining 6 chapters of the workbook at home on his/her own time, while the parent references the parent guide as needed to facilitate additional dialogue and answer questions/comments effectively.

Why group sessions?

It's an effective way to get parents to the table with their son/daughter on such important matters of love and sexuality.

Here are several reasons why even well-meaning Catholic parents often neglect conversations with their children about love, sexuality, and relationships:

  • Busy lives
  • Trust their children's school to educate on such topics
  • Trust their parish to educate on such topics
  • Don't know where to begin
  • Don't know the vocabulary to use
  • Don't know what to say and what not to say
  • Don't have the confidence
  • Apathy towards authentic love & sexuality
  • Distracted by other matters
  • Feel that "the talk" just isn't necessary

Group sessions will empower parents to take ownership over their children's development on matters of love & sexuality.

  • A convenient 2-hour window of time.
    • The less time you carve out, the less time available for parent-child conversations.
  • Physical space for the parent/child to have a private conversations in between the videos.
  • All program participants are encouraged to have their own parent guide and child work book, as appropriate for their age and gender. These take-home books allow parents and children to remain engaged on the topics long after the group session.
